Broomfield sits halfway between Denver and Boulder and covers a wide spread of home ages, so the plumbing problem on one street can look nothing like the one two miles away. We work on both ends of that range every week.
What Broomfield plumbing actually deals with
- One city, one county, one utility. Broomfield became Colorado’s 64th county in 2001, pulling itself out of four different counties, and it runs its own combined water and sewer utility. That matters when there is a problem at the property line, because the city draws a clear line on what they maintain and what you own.
- The service line is yours, and the city has warned about scams around it. Broomfield publicly reminds residents that the water and sewer service line running from the main into your house is the homeowner’s responsibility, and it has flagged third-party service-line protection mailers that are not affiliated with the city. If a line under your yard fails, that is your repair, and we handle that excavation. We will tell you honestly whether the break is on your side or the city’s before anyone digs.
- Old Broomfield Heights versus the new master-planned builds. The original Broomfield Heights core went up in the 1950s and 60s as Denver-Boulder Turnpike commuter housing, and those homes carry aging cast iron and galvanized pipe and original sewer laterals. The newer communities, Anthem, Anthem Ranch, Anthem Highlands, Broadlands, McKay Landing, Palisade Park, are PEX-plumbed and far newer, but their builder-grade water heaters, expansion tanks, and fixtures are now hitting the age where they start to fail. Two completely different service calls.
- Anthem Ranch is a 55-plus community. Anthem Ranch is a Del Webb active-adult neighborhood of single-level ranch homes. A lot of that work is comfort-height toilets, accessible fixtures, walk-in and curbless showers, and shutoffs and valves that are easy to reach and operate. We build that into how we quote it.
- Front Range basics still apply. Moderately hard water around 7 grains per gallon, expansive clay that moves sewer joints, and freeze-thaw winters that burst exposed and crawl-space pipes. Standard Broomfield realities we plan around.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Who is responsible for the sewer line in my yard, me or the city?
In Broomfield, the service line from the main into your home is the homeowner’s responsibility. The city maintains the main within the street. If the break is on your side, that is your repair, and we will show you with a camera exactly where the problem is before anyone digs.
I got a mailer about water and sewer line protection. Is that the city?
Broomfield has publicly noted that third-party service-line protection solicitations are not affiliated with the city. Read the fine print before you sign anything. If you ever do have a line failure, we can quote the actual repair so you can compare it against what a plan covers.
My home in Anthem or Broadlands is newer. Why am I already having plumbing issues?
Newer does not mean immune. Builder-grade water heaters, expansion tanks, shutoff valves, and fixtures commonly start failing right around the 10-to-15-year mark, which is exactly where many of these homes are now. We replace those with parts that last.
Do you do accessible and comfort-height fixture work in Anthem Ranch?
Yes. Comfort-height toilets, accessible faucets, walk-in and curbless showers, and easy-reach shutoffs are a big part of what we do in the 55-plus communities. Call 720-737-0274 to talk through your home.
